The Fiji Police Force rugby team received significant support from Shop N Save supermarket ahead of their upcoming Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Challenge. This marks the third consecutive year that the locally-owned supermarket has sponsored the Police Blues as they prepare to defend the prestigious trophy against the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on November 8 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

George Brown, a security consultant from Shop N Save Supermarket, presented the sponsorship and commended the officers for their contributions to the community and nation-building efforts.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime Mesake Waqa, who is also the president of the police rugby team, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship, highlighting that it will help support the team’s logistics. He acknowledged the importance of the event, stating, “We are not underestimating our opponents.”

Waqa noted that both teams aim to put forth their best performance during the match, and he anticipates that the military team will come prepared to reclaim the bowl, especially after their recent defeat in the Escott Shield. The exact amount of the sponsorship has not been disclosed.
