The Fiji Police Force hosted a significant medal parade today to recognize the dedication and service of its officers, both current and retired. A total of 206 officers were awarded the Fiji Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (FPLSM), while 89 officers received the Fiji Police Medal (FPM).
The honorees came from various divisions, including Southern, Eastern, Central, and Headquarters. Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew was present to commend the awardees, emphasizing that their commitment to their duties has earned them the right to wear these medals with pride. Chew expressed gratitude for the support he has received during his tenure and highlighted the importance of unity and continued excellence within the force.
He acknowledged the challenges faced by the officers, assuring them that, despite ups and downs, they have successfully navigated their responsibilities as a team. Chew also mentioned an upcoming transition, noting that a new Commissioner of Police will assume office in three weeks, urging the officers to extend their support to the new leadership.
Looking ahead, the next Medal Presentation for the Western Division is scheduled for this Wednesday at the Girmit Centre, further celebrating the commitment of Fiji’s police force.
