The Fiji Police Force recently held a ceremonial medal parade to recognize the dedicated service of its officers and those who have retired. During the event, a total of 206 officers received the Fiji Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (FPLSM), while an additional 89 officers were awarded the prestigious Fiji Police Medal (FPM).

Officers from various divisions, including the Southern, Eastern, Central, and Headquarters Division, were celebrated for their commitment to duty. Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew expressed his congratulations to the recipients, emphasizing the honor associated with wearing their medals. He encouraged the officers to maintain their exceptional standard of work, noting how fortunate they are to have reached this career milestone, unlike some of their colleagues who may not have had the same opportunity.

Chew took this occasion to express gratitude for the support he received during his time as Acting Commissioner. Reflecting on the challenges faced, he acknowledged the collective strength in overcoming difficulties together. With the impending transition to a new Commissioner of Police in three weeks, Chew urged officers to extend the same support to the incoming leadership to ensure the continued progress of the organization.

Looking ahead, the Medal Presentation for the Western Division is scheduled to take place this Wednesday at the Girmit Centre, further honoring the dedication of Fiji’s police personnel.

In summary, this event not only highlights the hard work and commitment of police officers but also fosters a sense of unity and continuity within the force as they prepare for new leadership. It’s a moment of pride for the recipients, and a reminder of the importance of service in maintaining public safety and community trust.
