The Fiji Police Force held a prestigious medal parade today to recognize the dedication and service of its officers, including retirees. A total of 206 officers were awarded the Fiji Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (FPLSM), while 89 received the Fiji Police Medal (FPM).
The officers honored at this event represent various divisions, including Southern, Eastern, Central, and Headquarters. Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, extended his congratulations to the recipients, emphasizing their hard work and commitment.
“You have earned your right to wear those medals with honour, and I ask that you continue with the momentum of excellent work,” said Chew. He acknowledged the significance of their achievements, noting that reaching this milestone is a privilege not all of their colleagues share.
In his address, Chew expressed gratitude for the support he has received throughout his tenure as Acting Commissioner. He remarked, “We have had our ups and downs, but we managed to overcome any issues together.” He also encouraged the officers to extend the same level of support to the incoming Commissioner of Police, who will assume office in three weeks.
Additionally, a medal presentation for the Western Division is scheduled to take place this Wednesday at the Girmit Centre, marking another opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the Fiji Police Force.
This event not only honors individual achievements but also highlights the importance of unity and support within the police force, paving the way for continued excellence in service to the community.
