The Fiji Police Force has announced a strong 25-member squad for their football team as they gear up for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl. This decision follows the recent inter-district championship (IDC) won by the Western Two team at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori last Saturday. National representative and Lautoka striker Sairusi Nalaubu scored the crucial goal in extra time, securing a 1-0 victory over the Police Mobile Forces (PMF).

Team manager ASP Mohammed Riyaz dedicated the win to all diligent police officers in the Western Division, covering areas from Rakiraki to Sigatoka. The team last claimed the title approximately five years ago. “This victory is for our families and the division commander as well,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of teamwork. “The team trained together for a week but also managed to balance their work and community service.”

Seven players from the victorious team have been selected for the Sukuna Bowl squad. “We look forward to challenging the men in green during the Sukuna Bowl. We intend to put up a strong fight,” ASP Riyaz added.

The Police squad includes Akuila Mataisuva, Jovilisi Borisi, Joela Bainivanua, Taniela Baivatu, Madhvan Goundar, Iliesa Lino, Tevita Waranivalu, Isikeli Tamanisiga, Abishek Kumar, Sairusi Nalaubu, Sikeli Ratucava, Viliame Vakatalesau, Siddhant Kumar, Sumit Goundar, Vikrant Chandra, Simione Tamanisau, Sitiveni Rakai, Ilisoni Lolaivalu, Kalivati Nateru, Amitesh Goundar, Remueru Tekiata, Ilaisa Nayasi, Ratu Anare, Semi Matalau, and Joeli Ranitu.
