The Fiji Police Force has announced a strong 25-member football squad as they prepare for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl. This follows the conclusion of their Inter-District Championship (IDC), which saw the Western Two team claim victory at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori last Saturday.

Lautoka striker and national representative Sairusi Nalaubu scored a crucial goal in extra time, leading to a 1-0 win over the Police Mobile Forces (PMF). Team manager ASP Mohammed Riyaz dedicated the victory to all dedicated police officers in the Western Division, covering areas from Rakiraki to Sigatoka.

The squad’s last title win was five years ago. Riyaz expressed gratitude, stating, “This is for our families and the division commander too. It was a team effort. The team camped for a week but they managed to balance work and training while serving our communities.”

Seven players from the championship-winning team have been selected for the Sukuna Bowl squad. He added, “We will see when we meet the men in green during the Sukuna Bowl. We’ll give them a hard time.”
