Fiji Police Football Squad Gears Up for Epic Sukuna Bowl Challenge!

The Fiji Police Force has announced a strong squad of 25 players for their football team as they prepare for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl. This announcement follows their recent victory in the inter-district championship (IDC), where the Western Two team triumphed over the Police Mobile Forces (PMF) with a score of 1-0, thanks to a crucial extra-time goal from national representative and Lautoka striker Sairusi Nalaubu.

Team manager ASP Mohammed Riyaz dedicated the win to all the hardworking police officers in the Western Division, covering areas from Rakiraki to Sigatoka. He expressed gratitude for the support and highlighted that the last time the team secured the title was about five years ago. He emphasized the collective effort put forth by the players, who managed to balance their responsibilities with training throughout a week-long camp, serving their communities while preparing for the championship.

Seven players from the victorious IDC team have been selected for the Sukuna Bowl squad. Riyaz remarked that they look forward to the challenge against their rivals in green during the tournament, promising a competitive match.

The announced police squad includes players Akuila Mataisuva, Jovilisi Borisi, Joela Bainivanua, Taniela Baivatu, Madhvan Goundar, Iliesa Lino, Tevita Waranivalu, Isikeli Tamanisiga, Abishek Kumar, Sairusi Nalaubu, Sikeli Ratucava, Viliame Vakatalesau, Siddhant Kumar, Sumit Goundar, Vikrant Chandra, Simione Tamanisau, Sitiveni Rakai, Ilisoni Lolaivalu, Kalivati Nateru, Amitesh Goundar, Remueru Tekiata, Ilaisa Nayasi, Ratu Anare, Semi Matalau, and Joeli Ranitu.
