Fiji Police Debunk Stabbing Rumors at Concert, Urge Caution on Social Media Claims

The Fiji Police Force has refuted claims circulating on social media regarding a stabbing incident that allegedly occurred during a performance at Albert Park last night.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu stated that there were no incidents requiring police action reported during the event or in the early hours following it. Officers were present at the concert site from the early evening until the event concluded.

The rumors began with a social media post that claimed a stabbing had taken place, leading to concerns among the public. However, officers on-site were promptly dispatched to investigate the claim, which they confirmed to be false.

ACP Driu emphasized that unfounded allegations on social platforms can lead to unnecessary anxiety and called on the public to report any real issues directly to the police for appropriate investigation.
