The Constitutional Offices Commission (COC) has received twenty-nine applications for the position of Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force. COC chairman and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed the news during a media interview in Tailevu yesterday. Rabuka mentioned that the applications will be reviewed in the upcoming COC meeting. This meeting is expected to take place after the return of Leader of the Opposition Inia Seruiratu, who is currently in Switzerland along with Speaker of the House Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and Government whip Alitia Bainivalu. Among the applicants are several senior police officers, including former Assistant Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu, the current acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew, and UN Assistant Secretary-General Unaisi Vuniwaqa.
