The Fiji Police Force is urging the public to refrain from directing laser lights at aircraft, as this endangers the lives of everyone onboard. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu made this statement following discussions with civil aviation authorities about the increasing concern over the misuse of laser pointers near airports. ACP Driu emphasized that targeting aircraft with laser lights poses serious risks and encouraged anyone who witnesses such behavior to report it to their local police station by calling 917 or to Crime Stoppers at 919.
