In an admirable move to improve educational access for students in remote locations, the Fiji National University (FNU) outreach team has successfully conducted an application drive throughout the Kadavu and Lomaiviti Groups. This initiative aims to bridge the educational gap faced by these communities, demonstrating FNU’s commitment to education.

Koro High School teacher Semisi Caucau expressed his gratitude towards FNU, recognizing the significant impact their assistance has had on the students’ ability to confidently pursue their educational aspirations, despite the geographical challenges they face. The outreach campaign comprised informative sessions at several schools, including Vunisea Secondary School, Richmond High School, and concluding at Levuka Public School. Vijayta Sharma, the acting manager of outreach, remarked on the excitement among students, particularly noting the engagement at Vunisea, where students were eager to understand how FNU’s programs align with their career ambitions. This enthusiasm showcased the determination of the students to plan their futures effectively, particularly highlighted by Year 13 students dedicating their Saturday to meet with FNU staff.
