The Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) will focus on internal reconciliation before participating in the national reconciliation efforts. RFMF Commander Major General Jone Kalouniwai shared this update during a media interview at Albert Park. He mentioned that a similar reconciliation that took place in Vanua Levu among current and former soldiers is also being planned for Viti Levu.
“The reconciliation process in Vanua Levu serves as a model for us, and we are exploring ways to reintegrate those under the age of 55 back into the RFMF,” he stated. Major General Kalouniwai recently led his team in a reconciliation march through Suva city.
