The Republic of Fiji Military Forces is hosting the RFMF Reconciliation and Restoration event for the first time at the Sukunaivalu Barracks in Labasa.
The day commenced with a church service aimed at fostering an atmosphere of healing and reflection. Following the service, Commander of the RFMF, Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, will lead a series of talanoa sessions alongside former military personnel involved in the takeover of Sukunaivalu VC Barracks.
Originally, the event was scheduled to conclude with a traditional Fijian reconciliation ceremony called veisorosorovi, where the RFMF would seek forgiveness in a significant act of reconciliation. However, this portion of the program has been postponed to tomorrow.
On the following day, the RFMF will also conduct a reconciliation ceremony to seek forgiveness from the Province of Macuata, adhering to Fijian protocol.
