The Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) will prioritize internal reconciliation before participating in the national reconciliation process. RFMF Commander Major General Jone Kalouniwai shared in a media interview at Albert Park that a similar reconciliation effort recently conducted in Vanua Levu for current and former soldiers is also being planned for Viti Levu.
“The reconciliation process in Vanua Levu is something that we will evaluate to reintegrate those individuals under the age of 55 back into the RFMF,” he stated. Major General Kalouniwai led his team in a reconciliation march through the city of Suva.
