Fiji Military Forces Commander Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai has expressed support for the government’s efforts to review the 2013 Constitution, stating that there is no harm in testing its provisions for potential amendments. He emphasized that if attempts to make changes do not succeed after multiple trials, it may be justifiable to explore other actions.
Kalouniwai highlighted the RFMF’s commitment to uphold the rule of law and adhere to established processes. He pointed out that the Constitution contains mechanisms for the government to implement changes. The commander further affirmed that the decision to review the Constitution is a political move, which they regard as appropriate within the legal framework.
