Netball Fiji has announced the final roster of 12 players for the Fiji Men’s Netball Team, set to compete at the Singapore Men’s Nations Cup from December 2-8. Head coach Jioweli Vakamoce highlighted the rigorous selection process that considered various factors, including individual skills, performance metrics, training attendance, teamwork, and leadership capabilities, to assemble a competitive team.
The team is currently in the final stages of their preparation. Coach Vakamoce reported that they had a comprehensive training session on the recent public holiday, which included targeted court skills practice from 7 am to 10 am. He noted that the team is now entering phase three of their training regimen, which involves full one-hour games every Saturday following their activation and strength training sessions. Additionally, the players are increasing their gym workout intensities as part of their preparation schedule.
Netball Fiji CEO, Vivian Koster, also expressed enthusiasm for the development of the Men’s program and urged fans to rally behind the team as they prepare to make an impact on the international stage.
The members of Fiji’s Men’s Netball Team include: Kitione Waqavonovono (Captain), Vilive Wainidroa (Vice-Captain), Amena Nacavaraba, Josefata CatiJoseva Nawaqa, Rarawa Vulimainarita, Atonio Lovokuro, Poasa Vulaono, Savenaca Sorovaki, Sireli Tuidrakim, Atonio Bakaniceva, and Nacanieli Goneyali.
