Fiji Medical Association Welcomes New Leadership: What’s Next?

The Fiji Medical Association has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new president following the recent annual general meeting in Nadi. Dr. Vakamocea will serve a two-year term alongside vice-president Dr. Ronald Kumar, secretary Dr. Miriama Tukana, and treasurer Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff.

The executive council comprises Dr. William May, Dr. Basharat Munshi, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh. In a statement, the FMA expressed its commitment to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, strengthening the healthcare system, and improving public health outcomes nationwide.

“The Fiji Medical Association congratulates the new office bearers and looks forward to their leadership in advancing the interests of the medical community and promoting healthcare excellence in Fiji,” the statement noted. The newly elected team is dedicated to continuing the legacy of excellence and service upheld by the association for more than six decades.
