Fiji Medical Association Welcomes New Leadership Team for 2024-2026

The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. The election of the FMA’s leadership for the term 2024-2026 occurred during the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, September 14, at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.

Dr. Ronald Kumar has been elected as the new Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana takes on the role of Secretary and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff assumes the position of Treasurer. The executive council now includes former President Dr. Basharat Munshi, along with Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh.

The Fiji Medical Association has expressed its congratulations to the newly elected office bearers and is eager to see their leadership in promoting the interests of the medical community and enhancing healthcare standards in Fiji. The Association remains focused on advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, strengthening the healthcare system, and improving public health outcomes nationwide.

The newly elected team will serve a two-year term, committed to upholding the tradition of excellence and service that the Association has maintained for over sixty years.
