Dr. Alipate Vakamocea has been elected as the new President of the Fiji Medical Association (FMA). The election for the new FMA leadership team for the term 2024-2026 occurred during the Annual General Meeting held on September 14 at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.
Dr. Ronald Kumar will serve as the new Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana takes on the role of Secretary, and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff serves as Treasurer. The executive council will also include former President Dr. Basharat Munshi, along with Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh.
The Fiji Medical Association has expressed its congratulations to the newly elected office bearers and looks forward to their leadership in promoting the interests of the medical community and advancing healthcare excellence in Fiji. The organization remains devoted to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, fortifying the healthcare system, and improving public health outcomes nationwide.
This newly elected team is set to serve for a two-year period and is committed to maintaining the high standards of service and excellence that the Association has championed for more than sixty years.
