The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has announced the election of Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. This decision was made during the Annual General Meeting held on September 14th at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, where the new officer bearers for the term 2024-2026 were elected.
Dr. Ronald Kumar steps into the role of Vice President, with Dr. Miriama Tukana serving as Secretary and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff taking on the position of Treasurer. The executive council also welcomes former President Dr. Basharat Munshi, along with Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh as its new members.
The Fiji Medical Association has expressed its congratulations to the newly elected office bearers and anticipates their guidance in promoting the interests of the medical community and enhancing healthcare quality in Fiji. The Association is dedicated to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, fortifying the healthcare system, and improving public health outcomes nationwide.
The newly elected team will serve a two-year term and is committed to carrying on the tradition of excellence and service that the FMA has maintained for over sixty years.
