The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has announced the election of Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. This decision was made during the Annual General Meeting held on September 14 at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, where the new officer bearers for the 2024-2026 term were selected.
Dr. Ronald Kumar has been appointed as the Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff will serve as the Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. The former president, Dr. Basharat Munshi, along with Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh have also joined the executive council as new members.
The Fiji Medical Association has extended its congratulations to the newly elected officials and anticipates their leadership in advancing the interests of the medical community and promoting healthcare excellence in Fiji. The Association is dedicated to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, enhancing the healthcare system, and improving public health outcomes nationwide.
The newly elected team will serve a two-year term and is committed to continuing the legacy of excellence and service that the Association has maintained for over sixty years.
