Fiji Medical Association Welcomes New Leadership Team

The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. The election for the FMA Officer Bearers for the 2024-2026 term occurred during the Annual General Meeting on September 14 at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa.

Dr. Ronald Kumar has been elected as Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff will serve as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Additionally, former President Dr. Basharat Munshi, along with Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh, have joined the executive council.

The Fiji Medical Association congratulated the new office bearers and expressed optimism about their leadership in advancing the medical community’s interests and promoting healthcare excellence in Fiji. The Association remains dedicated to advocating for medical professionals, strengthening the healthcare system, and improving public health outcomes nationwide.

The newly elected team will hold office for a two-year term and is committed to upholding the legacy of excellence and service that the Association has maintained for over sixty years.
