Fiji Medical Association Welcomes New Leadership Team

The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. The election took place during the Annual General Meeting on September 14 at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, marking the beginning of the 2024-2026 term for the FMA Officer Bearers.

Dr. Ronald Kumar has been elected as the Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff will serve as Secretary and Treasurer respectively. The former President, Dr. Basharat Munshi, along with Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh, have been elected as new executive council members.

The Fiji Medical Association has expressed its congratulations to the new office bearers and anticipates their leadership in advocating for the medical community and enhancing healthcare excellence in Fiji. The Association remains dedicated to improving the welfare of medical professionals and public health outcomes throughout the nation. The newly elected team will serve for two years, continuing the Association’s legacy of service and excellence that has been maintained for over sixty years.
