Fiji Medical Association Welcomes New Leadership Team

The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. The election of the new FMA officers for the 2024-2026 term occurred during the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, September 14, at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.

Dr. Ronald Kumar will serve as the Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff take on the roles of Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Additional members of the executive council include former President Dr. Basharat Munshi, Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh.

The Fiji Medical Association has extended its congratulations to the newly elected officials and anticipates their leadership in enhancing the interests of the medical community and promoting healthcare excellence in Fiji. The Association is focused on advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, improving the healthcare system, and advancing public health outcomes nationwide.

The newly elected team is committed to serving a two-year term and aims to uphold the legacy of excellence and service that the Association has maintained for over sixty years.
