Fiji Medical Association Welcomes New Leadership for 2024-2026

The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has chosen Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. The election for the FMA Officer Bearers for the term 2024-2026 took place after the Annual General Meeting on September 14 at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.

Dr. Ronald Kumar has been appointed as the new Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff will serve as the Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Former President Dr. Basharat Munshi, along with Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh, have been elected as new executive council members.

The Fiji Medical Association congratulated the new office bearers and looks forward to their leadership in advancing the interests of the medical community and promoting healthcare excellence in Fiji. The Association is committed to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, strengthening the healthcare system, and improving public health outcomes throughout the nation.

The newly elected team will serve a two-year term and is focused on continuing the legacy of excellence and service that the Association has maintained for over sixty years.
