Fiji Medical Association Welcomes New Leadership for 2024-2026

The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. The election of the FMA Officer Bearers for the 2024-2026 term occurred during the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, September 14, at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.

Dr. Ronald Kumar has been elected as the Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff will serve as the Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. The former President, Dr. Basharat Munshi, along with Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh, have joined the new executive council.

The Fiji Medical Association has expressed congratulations to the newly elected office bearers and anticipates their leadership in advancing the interests of the medical community and promoting healthcare excellence in Fiji. The Association remains dedicated to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, fortifying the healthcare system, and improving public health outcomes throughout the nation.

The newly elected team will serve a two-year term and is committed to continuing the legacy of excellence and service that the Association has maintained for more than sixty years.
