Fiji Medical Association Elects New Leadership: Meet the Team!

The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. The elections for the new FMA officer bearers for the 2024-2026 term were held during the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, September 14, at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.

Dr. Ronald Kumar will serve as the new Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff have been designated as the Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. The executive council now includes former President Dr. Basharat Munshi, Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh.

The Fiji Medical Association has extended its congratulations to the newly elected office bearers and is optimistic about their leadership in promoting the interests of the medical community and advancing healthcare quality in Fiji. The Association remains dedicated to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals and enhancing public health outcomes nationwide. The newly elected team will serve a two-year term, continuing the Association’s legacy of excellence and service built over the past six decades.
