The businessNOW FIJI e-Services platform was launched last week by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica. This innovative initiative aims to significantly decrease the time required to start a business in Fiji.
Developed by the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, businessNOW FIJI seeks to enhance the business environment by consolidating essential government services into a single, efficient digital platform.
The platform offers eight integrated e-services specifically designed for starting a business, enabling both Fijian and international entrepreneurs to navigate the process seamlessly, with a turnaround time of just 14 days for all complete applications.
During the launch, Mr. Kamikamica highlighted the critical role of innovation and sustainable practices in promoting economic growth and improving the quality of life in Fiji. He noted that the integrated e-services exemplify the government’s continuous efforts to encourage investment and create a favorable business environment.
“We are excited to introduce the businessNOW FIJI platform, marking a new chapter of opportunity and prosperity for our country,” Mr. Kamikamica stated. He added that this initiative not only highlights their successes but also underscores their dedication to sustainability and resilience amid global challenges.
The launch attracted various stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, and sector representatives, emphasizing collaboration and exploring new growth opportunities in Fiji. The ministry envisions that this project will reposition Fiji as a leader in the Pacific and illustrate its innovative approach to developing a robust economic landscape.
