Digicel Fiji Junior Bula Boys’ head coach, Marika Rodu, has expressed a strong ambition to reach the final of the OFC Under-19 Championship in Samoa. Rodu assured that the team is well-prepared and ready to face the challenging competition in Group A, featuring Tahiti, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu – all regional football giants.

The coach outlined the strategy for success, stating, “We have a process and our ultimate goal is to make it to the final. Leading Pool A would significantly enhance our prospects of not only advancing to the semi-finals but also securing a spot in the world championship next year.”

He further highlighted the evolution of the team, noting that nine players had progressed from U17 to U19, along with senior players. He also acknowledged the more matured players participating in the DPL.

Rodu firmly stated that they aim to hit the ground running from the first game, anticipating no easy matches. The team’s initial match is against Tahiti this Friday at 1pm, followed by games against Solomon Islands on July 8 and Vanuatu on July 11. The team departed for Samoa today.
