Fiji’s President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has presented the 50th Anniversary medal to the nation’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Filipo Tarakinikini, and Fiji’s Military and Police Advisor to PRUN, Colonel Siliva Raradoka Vananalagi.
This medal is given to recognize individuals, both citizens and non-citizens, for their contributions to Fiji’s development and humanity over the past 50 years. It reflects His Excellency’s commitment to promoting a culture of appreciation and inclusivity.
Ambassador Tarakinikini has had a distinguished career, including serving as the chief of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) section at the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) at the UN headquarters in New York. Colonel Vananalagi has dedicated 35 years to various roles, including administrator, trainer, planner, financial controller, logistician, and leadership positions both domestically and internationally.
