The Fiji Senior Golfers tournament, supported by Asco Motors, was held at the Natadola Golf Course in Nadi over the weekend.
According to Susan Yee, Secretary of the Fiji Golf Club, the event attracted 70 players who participated in the two-person Ambrose format, including competitors from the West, Pacific Harbour, Australia, and the Fiji Golf Club, making for a lively day of golfing.
Yee noted the impressive participation of 20 female golfers, featuring prominent players such as Susan Joyce, Barbara O’Neil, and Heather Atu from Nadi, along with Australia’s Tema Buadromo, and Fiji Golf Club members like Barbara Nasara, Mua Rawlinson, and Caroline Chang.
Prizes were awarded to the top six teams, along with recognition for Nearest-to-the-Pin on all Par 3 holes and Longest Drives for both men and women, courtesy of Asco Motors Limited. Two lucky draw vouchers were also given away, complemented by a delicious lunch provided by the Natadola team.
The tournament concluded with the following results: Indar Wajan and Joeli secured 6th place with 67.5 points, while Asim Hussein and Thiphait Hussein finished 5th with 67 points. Kamal Singh and Naveen Chand placed 4th with 66.5 points, Jack Lee and Rookie came in 3rd with 66 points, and Linda Callaghan and Vidhya Lakhan took 2nd place with 65.75 points. The champions, Carol Wright and Susan Joyce, won 1st place with a score of 64 points.
