Team Pro Pack triumphed at the Caritas Fiji Golf tournament, which was sponsored by Fiji Airways, held at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club last Saturday. The victorious team, comprising Kishor Kumar, Inoke Bolakoro, Damien Sheridan, and Roneel Prakash, scored an impressive 56.125 points.
Damien Sheridan, who played golf for the first time, expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m playing golf for the first time and great to be part of the winning team.”
Following closely in second place was Team Rariben, featuring Shelly Rariden from Michigan, USA, along with Father Sigarara and David Qiolevu, who finished with 56.3 points. Shelly Rariden shared her joy about the event, stating that she and her friends have known Father Sigarara since his time in the United States. She praised the welcoming nature of the staff and the beautiful golf course, emphasizing that Fiji exceeded her expectations as a warm cultural community.
In third place, Team Mali, which included Nitulesh Mali, Avinesh Dutt, Shivneel Gounder, and Abid Hussain, recorded a score of 56.62 points.
Arthur Groom, director of Caritas Fiji, thanked Fiji Airways for being the major sponsor of the second annual tournament. He highlighted that all proceeds from the event would support charitable initiatives, aimed at assisting those in need within the community. Groom conveyed gratitude to the generous sponsors for their contributions and encouraged collaborative efforts to make a positive impact.
Caritas Fiji is known as the social arm of the Catholic Church in Fiji, focusing on charity and supporting the marginalized. Its mission is to advocate for the voiceless and help foster justice in society.
