Fiji Women’s Futsal coach Jerry Sam is calling on his team to increase their pace ahead of their next match against New Zealand, after securing a 4-0 victory over Tonga that left him feeling somewhat unfulfilled.
Despite the comfortable win in their second match of the OFC Women’s Futsal Championship, Sam criticized the team’s performance for lacking the intensity and speed required to compete with stronger foes.
“We started off a bit slow, likely due to the mindset that playing against Tonga means an easy start. We cannot let that happen in our next game, and we need to take that into account,” Sam stated.
Throughout the match, he expressed his frustration openly, moving along the sidelines and encouraging his players to intensify their efforts and create more scoring chances.
Sam believes the team possesses the skills and potential to elevate their performance and is eager to see them demonstrate that on the court.
The upcoming match against New Zealand is crucial, scheduled for tomorrow at 4 pm at the Friendship Hall in the Solomon Islands.
