The Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the communities they serve, achieving a significant milestone at their 5th Multidisciplinary (Pacific) Conference.
Held at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, the foundation awarded $141,500 to 14 charities. Over the years, the foundation has shown remarkable growth and impact, now operating 10 impactful programs that support 100 charities annually.
Collectively, the foundation has invested $50 million in social services, forming enduring partnerships with 1000 charity programs and a vast network of collaborators. These efforts have reached over 2000 charity organizations, aiding 800 villages and 400 schools with direct grants totaling $12 million.
Foundation chairman Lionel Yee emphasized that their mission is to uplift, empower, and enrich the lives of those they serve. Ivan Fong, CEO of Amalgamated Telecomm Holdings Group of Companies, was the chief guest at the conference, which embraced the theme “Catalysing Vitality: Innovations and Insights for Sustainable Wellbeing.”
The conference highlighted the integration of technology, legal frameworks, educational strategies, and community engagement to address complex health and societal challenges. Mr. Fong discussed objectives aimed at identifying community issues and exchanging ideas to derive solutions, enhancing digital connectivity, implementing digital solutions, and leveraging social media strategies and emerging AI technologies to improve efficiency among Pacific NGOs.
