The Fiji National Football Team has achieved a significant milestone in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, moving up to the 146th position. This marks them as the second-highest ranked team in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), representing a pivotal achievement for both the Bula Boys and the football community in Fiji.
This ranking is the highest for Fiji since 2011, reflecting the team’s dedication and improvement over the years. The recent advancement of four spots in the rankings followed Fiji’s victory against the Solomon Islands in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, allowing them to outpace their regional competitors.
Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel expressed his satisfaction with the current ranking, crediting the success to the hard work and commitment of the players, coaching staff, and the broader football community in Fiji. He highlighted the importance of development initiatives in player training, coaching, and infrastructure, which have played a critical role in the team’s achievements. Patel also noted the value of constructive criticism while underscoring the importance of unity and collective support for the team.
“Constructive criticism is important and helps us reflect and improve,” Patel stated. “However, we must also recognize that the path to success is not always straightforward, and challenges will arise.”
He extended gratitude to loyal supporters for their unwavering passion, acknowledging their vital role in motivating the team. Patel concluded by expressing optimism about Fiji’s potential to attain further success, both within Oceania and on the global stage.
