The Fiji National Football Team has achieved a notable milestone in the recent FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking by climbing to 146th place. This accomplishment positions Fiji as the second-highest ranked team in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) and marks an important moment for the Bula Boys and the broader football community in Fiji.

This ranking is the highest for Fiji since 2011, reflecting the continuous progress and improvement of the team over the years. The team’s recent success, including a win against the Solomon Islands in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, contributed significantly to their rise, allowing them to surpass regional competitors.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel expressed his joy over the team’s achievement, crediting the players, coaching staff, and the entire football community for their hard work and dedication. He highlighted the importance of ongoing player development, effective coaching, and improved infrastructure that have driven the team’s success. While acknowledging the value of constructive criticism in fostering growth, Patel also stressed the necessity for unity and collective support among all stakeholders.

“Constructive criticism is important and helps us reflect and improve,” Patel stated. “However, we must also recognize that the path to success is not always straightforward, and we will face challenges along the way.”

He extended his gratitude to the loyal fans for their unwavering passion and commitment, acknowledging their crucial role in motivating the team. Patel concluded with optimism regarding Fiji’s potential to achieve even greater success, both in Oceania and on the world stage.
