The Fiji National Football Team has achieved a noteworthy milestone in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, rising to the 146th position. This placement makes them the second-highest ranked team in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) and marks an important moment for the team, affectionately known as the Bula Boys, as well as Fiji’s football community.
This ranking is Fiji’s best since 2011, reflecting the team’s consistent progress and improvements over recent years. The recent advancement of four places in the rankings is attributed to Fiji’s victory over the Solomon Islands in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, allowing them to outpace their regional rivals.
Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel expressed his satisfaction with the team’s new ranking, crediting it to the dedication and hard work of the players, coaching staff, and the broader football community in Fiji. He highlighted the commitment to player development, coaching, and infrastructure as key factors in the team’s success. Patel acknowledged the value of constructive criticism while emphasizing the importance of unity and collective support.
“Constructive criticism is important and helps us reflect and improve,” Patel stated. “However, we must also recognize that the path to success is not always straightforward, and we will encounter challenges along the way.”
He also expressed gratitude to the loyal supporters for their unwavering passion and dedication, acknowledging their role as a significant motivator behind the team’s achievements. Patel concluded by voicing confidence in Fiji’s potential for even greater success, both in Oceania and on the international stage.
