The Fiji National Football Team has achieved a significant milestone in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, now sitting in 146th place. This positions them as the second-highest ranked team within the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), marking an important moment for the Bula Boys and the country’s football community.

This ranking is the highest for Fiji since 2011, reflecting steady progress and improvement over the years. Their recent rise in the rankings, moving up four spots, follows their victory against the Solomon Islands in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, allowing them to move ahead of their regional competitors.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel expressed his happiness about the team’s new ranking, crediting it to the dedication and hard work of the players, the coaching staff, and the broader football community in Fiji. He highlighted the strategic efforts invested in player development, coaching, and infrastructure, which have played a crucial role in the team’s achievements.

Patel also acknowledged the value of constructive criticism in facilitating growth while emphasizing the importance of unity and support. He remarked, “Constructive criticism is important and helps us reflect and improve. However, we must also recognize the path to success is not always straightforward, and we will face challenges along the way.”

He extended his gratitude to the loyal supporters for their passion and support, recognizing their vital role in motivating the team. Patel concluded with confidence in the team’s potential for greater accomplishments, both within Oceania and on the global stage.
