FIFA icon Luke Wilkshire will serve as the chief guest at this year’s Extra Supermarket Fiji Football Association Awards Night, taking place at the Crown Plaza Hotel on December 1.
Wilkshire, who played as a right back, brings a wealth of experience to the event, having represented Australia in 80 international matches. His impressive career spans stints at notable clubs such as Middlesbrough and Bristol City in the English Premier League, as well as the prestigious Dutch club Feyenoord.
The return of the Fiji FA Awards Night is eagerly awaited, following a three-year hiatus. Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf confirmed the details to SUNsports, highlighting a new partnership with Extra Supermarket, which promises to elevate this year’s event significantly.
A total of 14 esteemed awards will be presented, including categories such as Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Young Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Futsal Player of the Year (Male/Female), Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.
This event not only celebrates the achievements of football talent in Fiji but also fosters a sense of community and excellence within the sport.
