A heavy rain warning has been issued for the western and northern regions of Fiji as a trough of low pressure brings cloud cover and rainfall to these areas. This weather pattern is expected to gradually extend across the entire nation by tomorrow.
Currently, a flow of north to easterly winds is being experienced throughout Fiji. The Northern Division, along with the Yasawa and Mamanuca islands, Viti Levu, and some smaller nearby islands, can expect occasional rain, with periods of heavy rainfall and possible thunderstorms.
There is a risk of isolated thunderstorms that could lead to intense rainfall, raising concerns for flash flooding in low-lying areas. Residents are advised to be cautious, as day-to-day activities may be disrupted due to wet road conditions and limited visibility.
The Fiji Meteorological Service will provide updated information in its next bulletin scheduled for release at 10:30 PM tonight.
This alert serves as a reminder for residents to remain vigilant and prepared for inclement weather, ensuring safety measures are in place. Although rain can be disruptive, it also represents an opportunity for replenishing water supplies and nurturing the natural environment, promoting growth in agriculture and ecosystem health in the long run.
