The Fiji National Beach Soccer team experienced a significant setback in their second match of the OFC Men’s Beach Soccer Nations Cup, suffering a crushing 10-1 defeat to the defending champions, Tahiti, in Honiara, Solomon Islands. This loss follows a narrow defeat in their opening match against Papua New Guinea, where they lost 8-6.

From the beginning of the match, Tahiti dominated, netting four goals in the first period while Fiji struggled to keep pace. The second period saw Tahiti add three more goals, deepening Fiji’s woes as they struggled defensively against their formidable opponents.

Despite the determination of seasoned players like Tevita Waranivalu and Madhwan Goundar to generate scoring opportunities for the less experienced players, Fiji remained outmatched and unable to thwart Tahiti’s relentless attacks.

Looking to the future, Fiji’s next challenge is against the host nation, Solomon Islands, scheduled for 4 PM today.
