The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is excited to announce the highly awaited return of its Awards Night, which has been on pause for three years. This year, 14 distinguished awards will celebrate the achievements of players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers within Fiji’s vibrant football community, thanks to the new sponsorship from Extra Supermarket.
Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Yusuf, emphasized the significance of this event in fostering unity among football enthusiasts and recognizing the hard work dedicated to the sport. “The awards night aims to bring the football fraternity together after a three-year hiatus to acknowledge the achievements and dedication of the clubs,” Yusuf stated.
Yusuf encourages all 20 clubs affiliated with the Fiji FA to participate actively by submitting nominations for their outstanding members, ensuring that the remarkable efforts of players and coaches are duly recognized.
This year’s awards will introduce new categories to appreciate the varied contributions made in Fiji’s football scene. Notable awards include: Male and Female Footballer of the Year, Young Male and Female Footballer of the Year, Male and Female Futsal Player of the Year, Team of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year, among others.
The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night 2024 is scheduled to be held on December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nadi, promising to be a memorable celebration for the football community.
In summary, the return of the Fiji FA Awards Night not only marks a celebration of excellence in football but also reinstates the spirit of camaraderie within the sports community after a challenging period. The event provides an opportunity for clubs to shine a light on their stars, fostering a renewed sense of enthusiasm and dedication towards the sport.
