The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) Awards Night is set to make a much-anticipated comeback after a three-year break, showcasing 14 distinguished awards to honor the contributions within the football community.

This year’s event is being bolstered by a new partnership with Extra Supermarket, ensuring an enhanced experience for attendees and participants alike. Mohammed Yusuf, the chief executive of Fiji FA, emphasized the significance of this gala evening, stating it represents an opportunity to unite the football community while acknowledging the invaluable efforts of players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers throughout the sport in Fiji.

Yusuf extended a call to action for all 20 clubs affiliated with Fiji FA, encouraging them to nominate members whose dedication deserves recognition. He remarked, “We urge all clubs to send in their nominations for the hard work of their players, coaches, officials, and volunteers,” and underscored the importance of clubs participating to ensure their stars shine at the awards ceremony.

This year’s awards will introduce several new categories, reflecting the diverse contributions within Fiji’s football arena. The accolades will include Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Young Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Futsal Player of the Year (Male/Female), Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year. Yusuf noted that the expanded categories aim to recognize achievements across both football and futsal, along with acknowledging the essential roles played by various individuals in the sport’s growth and development.

The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night 2024 is scheduled for December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nadi, marking a momentous celebration for the football community.
