This year’s event will feature 14 prestigious awards, backed by the new sponsor, Extra Supermarket, aiming to elevate the celebration and recognize excellence within the sport.
Fiji FA chief executive officer, Mohammed Yusuf, emphasized the significance of this event as a means of uniting the football community and acknowledging the contributions made by individuals and teams. The 2024 Awards Night will honor outstanding players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers across Fiji’s football landscape. Yusuf encouraged all 20 Fiji FA-affiliated clubs to submit nominations, ensuring that dedicated members receive the recognition they deserve.
“We urge all clubs to send in their nominations for the hard work of their players, coaches, officials, and volunteers,” he added, encouraging participation to highlight the stars of the night.
Additionally, Yusuf mentioned that this year’s event will introduce several new categories to acknowledge the varied contributions within Fiji’s football community. Awards will include Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Young Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Futsal Player of the Year (Male/Female), Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.
