The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) Awards Night is set to make an exciting comeback following a three-year hiatus. Scheduled for December 1 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nadi, this year’s event will feature 14 prestigious awards, all made possible through a new partnership with Extra Supermarket, promising to elevate the ceremony to new heights.
Mohammed Yusuf, the chief executive officer of Fiji FA, emphasized the significance of this event in fostering unity among the football community while appreciating the hard work of individuals and teams in the sport. “The awards night aims to bring the football fraternity together after a three-year break to celebrate the achievements and dedication of the clubs,” stated Yusuf.
This year’s awards aim to honor the remarkable contributions made by players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers across Fiji’s football landscape. Yusuf encouraged all 20 Fiji FA-affiliated clubs to submit nominations to acknowledge their members’ dedication and efforts. “We urge all clubs to send in their nominations for the hard work of their players, coaches, officials, and volunteers. We encourage clubs to participate and ensure their stars shine at the awards night,” he remarked.
In addition, Yusuf shared that a variety of new award categories will be introduced to recognize the diverse contributions to Fiji’s football community. Among the awards are titles for Male and Female Footballer of the Year, Young Footballer of the Year (both Male and Female), Futsal Player of the Year (Male/Female), Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.
The return of the Fiji FA Awards Night not only highlights the achievements of local football heroes but also marks a hopeful renewal for the community as they come together in celebration of their shared passion for the sport. As teams and individuals gear up to be recognized for their hard work, this event is a promising reminder of the resilience and dedication within Fiji’s football scene.
