The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) is set to celebrate the return of its Awards Night after a three-year break, much to the excitement of the football community. This year, the event is expected to be enhanced by a new partnership with Extra Supermarket, which aims to raise the profile and significance of the occasion.

Mohammed Yusuf, the CEO of Fiji FA, emphasized the role of the Awards Night in bringing together the football fraternity and recognizing outstanding contributions by individuals and teams in the sport. He stated, “The awards night is to bring the football fraternity together after a three-year hiatus to acknowledge the achievements and dedication of the clubs.”

This year’s event will celebrate the remarkable efforts of players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers throughout Fiji’s football landscape. Yusuf is encouraging all 20 Fiji FA-affiliated clubs to submit nominations for those who have made significant contributions, urging them to spotlight their stars during the awards night.

In a bid to diversify recognition within the community, several new categories have been introduced for this year’s awards. The categories include Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Young Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Futsal Player of the Year (Male and Female), Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year.

The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night will take place on December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nadi, providing an exciting opportunity to celebrate the collective achievements in Fijian football.

This event not only serves as a moment of recognition but also reinforces community spirit within Fiji’s football scene, showcasing the nation’s commitment to developing the sport and celebrating those dedicated to its growth. The anticipation surrounding this return symbolizes hope for a united and thriving football community in Fiji.
