This year’s event, which is supported by a new sponsor, Extra Supermarket, is expected to be larger and more impactful than ever before.

Fiji FA’s chief executive, Mohammed Yusuf, emphasized the significance of this gala, noting that it serves to bring together the football community and acknowledge the hard work of individuals and teams in the sport. He expressed hope that this event would honor the outstanding contributions from players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers throughout Fiji’s football landscape.

Yusuf has urged all 20 affiliated clubs to ensure that their members are recognized for their dedication and achievements. He encouraged clubs to submit nominations for their players, coaches, officials, and volunteers, stating that their participation is crucial for celebrating their stars at the awards night.

This year’s Awards Night will introduce several new categories to highlight the diverse contributions within Fiji’s football community. Award categories include Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Young Footballer of the Year (Male and Female), Futsal Player of the Year (Male and Female), Team of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Elite Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Employee of the Year. Yusuf stated that the expanded categories aim to acknowledge a broad range of achievements in both football and futsal, as well as to highlight the crucial roles played by administrators, coaches, referees, volunteers, and employees in the sport’s growth in the country.

The Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night 2024 is scheduled for December 1 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nadi, marking an exciting opportunity for the football community to come together and celebrate their successes.

This return of the awards night not only enhances the visibility of football in Fiji but also fosters unity among its participants, encouraging continued growth and excellence in the sport. With a renewed focus on recognizing various contributions, this event paves the way for a brighter future in Fiji’s football scene.
