The Fiji Enterprise Engine (FEE) – Accelerator Program, managed by the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF), has announced a new partnership with alumni from its previous cohorts to enhance the program’s support. The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of association signed at FCEF last Friday.

FCEF President Vinay Narsey expressed gratitude towards the new partners and acknowledged their continuous support for the FEE program since its launch in 2019. He remarked on the significant progress the program has made over the years and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving its success.

The FEE initiative is a collaborative effort between FCEF and various partners, including the Australian Government, which has been involved since the program’s inception. Narsey highlighted the program’s unique position as a private-sector-led accelerator, thanking the Australian Government for its vision in creating a robust support system for local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

In 2022, the FEE scholarship initiative was introduced, enabling MSMEs to participate through full and partial scholarships, thanks to contributions from partners like the iTaukei Trust Fund Board and the Ministry of External Trade, Cooperatives, SMEs, and Communications. In 2023, new partners such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF), as well as Capital Insurance, joined the program.

FEE has trained 77 MSME owners in crucial areas such as accounting, finance, branding, marketing, strategic management, human resources, and entrepreneurship. Participants benefit from personalized coaching, mentoring, and business compliance workshops.

Acting CEO of FCEF Savenaca Baro praised the program’s growth and emphasized the importance of support from partners. He noted that MSMEs are vital for economic development and the partnerships forged demonstrate a commitment to community resilience.

The FEE program fosters a unique environment where entrepreneurs share experiences, seek help, and collaborate effectively. Palinda Kaitu’u, Business Accelerator Manager, stated that the program provides a safe space for participants to discuss challenges and enhances their ability to thrive in a competitive marketplace.

This year’s cohort includes 25 MSMEs from various previous groups, including notable businesses and their coaches, further solidifying the FEE program’s place in fostering economic growth in Fiji.
