Fiji’s powerlifting team achieved remarkable success at the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship held in Nauru, securing a total of 19 medals. The team proudly brought home two golds, seven silvers, and ten bronzes across various weight categories, including under 74kg, under 83kg, under 93kg, under 105kg, and under 120kg.
Among the standout performers were Vinesh Chand, Faga Varea, Muzzammi Ali, Viliame Lagonilakeba, Kurt Wise, and young Vivaan Patel, who was noted as the youngest competitor at the event.
In addition to their medal haul, Fiji was awarded the opportunity to host the 2026 Oceania Powerlifting Championship, indicating a bright future for the sport in the region.
