Fiji Day Festivities to Showcase Military Pride and Unity

Over 400 members of the military and navy are set to participate in the national Fiji Day celebrations at Subrail Park in Labasa tomorrow. Samuela Ligairi, the special administrator of Labasa Town Council, announced that these personnel will engage in various ceremonial activities as the nation marks another year of independence.

Ligairi noted that alongside government ministers, bilateral partners will also join the festivities. The chief guest for the celebration will be the provincial chief and president, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere. He emphasized that this celebration is a chance for the community to unite and reinforce their commitment to building a stronger, more cohesive Fiji.

“It’s also a day for reflection on our journey as a nation and to celebrate our shared values,” he stated. Ligairi highlighted that the last national celebration held in Labasa took place in 2018.
